== Aim and scope ==<br />
<br />
The aim of the annual [[International Conference on Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets]] (ICIFS) is to gather specialists interested in [[intuitionistic fuzziness]], decision making under uncertainty, and other related topics, and to give them floor for discussions on both the theoretical and practical aspects of intuitionistic fuzzy sets. Since 2013, ICIFS has been an [[EUSFLAT]] endorsed event. <br />

| abstract = The present short note aims to propose a new, alternative, way to interpret the results of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets-based method for multicriteria decision support named InterCriteria Analysis. Given an <math>m \times n</math> dataset of multiple (''m'') objects evaluated numerically against multiple (''n'') criteria, the ICA method generates an <math>n \times n</math> table of intuitionistic fuzzy pairs <math>\langle \mu_{i,j}, \nu_{i,j} \rangle, \ i, j \in {1, 2, \ldots, n}</math> where the given pair indicates the extent of relation between the corresponding pair of criteria <math>C_i, C_j</math>. Traditionally, the interpretation of these intuitionistic fuzzy pairs regarding the extent of positive or negative dependence between two criteria (or, respectively, the lack of such) requires that two threshold values, both in the [0,1] interval too, are used. Now we propose to use only one such threshold value belonging to the [0,1] interval, for instance a minimal threshold of the degree of membership, while the other threshold would be essentially related to the size of the subset of intercriteria pairs being shortlisted for interpretation, rather than their degree of non-membership. We justify that the proposed approach, inspired by the Pareto Principle, in certain cases yields better results than the traditionally used one.<br />

| abstract = The present short note aims to propose a new, alternative, way to interpret the results of the intuitionistic fuzzy sets-based method for multicriteria decision support named InterCriteria Analysis. Now we propose to use only one such threshold value belonging to the [0,1] interval, for instance a minimal threshold of the degree of membership, while the other threshold {would} be essentially related to the size of the subset of intercriteria pairs being shortlisted for interpretation, rather than their degree of non-membership. We justify that the proposed approach, inspired by the Pareto Principle, in certain cases yields better results than the traditionally used one.. <br />

| abstract = This study addresses the relation between air pollution factors and weather related parameters. By using the InterCriteria Analysis to the combined set of weather and atmosphere related parameters it is possible to discover and predict abnormal reading among the air pollution parameters and certain weather conditions. An approach to increase the computation capabilities of the ICA software has been proposed due to the fact that by applying new objects and criteria to ICA, the computational burden increases.<br />

| abstract = Here we discuss an important aspect of the InterCriteria Decision Making approach, related to the possibilities for defining the intuitionistic fuzzy threshold values that help discriminate between the positive consonance, the negative consonance and the dissonance between the criteria. In our previous research, we used to set thee thresholds to predefined values in the [0; 1]-interval, changing with a step of 0.1, 0.05, or 0.025, according to the desired precision, but we have observed some flaws in this approach, and suggest new, more accurate, ways to determine these values. We use as example data sets, derived from the World Economic Forum’s annual Global Competitiveness Reports, for the 28 European Union Member States between 2008 and 2014 year.<br />

| abstract = An application of InterCriteria Analysis (ICA) – recently proposed approach for multicriteria decision support – is here presented. The apparata of Index Matrices and Intuitionistic Fuzzy Sets are in the grounds of ICA. In this investigation, ICA is applied to examine the influences of genetic algorithms parameters during the model parameter identification of E. coli MC4110 and S. cerevisiae fermentation processes. The impact of two of the main genetic algorithms parameters, namely number of individuals and number of generations, is here studied. The obtained results after ICA application are discussed towards convergence time and model accuracy. Some conclusions about existing relations and dependencies between genetic algorithms parameters, from one side, and fermentation process model parameters from the other side, are derived.<br />

| abstract = The InterCriteria Decision Making approach provides new ways to compare any two criteria, against which a set of objects have been evaluated. In order to test how this approach performs with different sets of data, a specialized software application has been developed, which takes two matrices of input data and outputs the intuitionistic fuzzy pairs that describe the intercriterial relationship as two tables. The application can work with Microsoft Excel workbooks or text files and provides ways to transfer the output data to other programs. It can also include functionality to display graphics of the output data.<br />

| abstract = In this paper the InterCriteria Analysis (ICrA) approach is applied to find more knowledge from series of identification procedures using 34 differently tuned genetic algorithms (GAs). The influence of the mutation rate ''pm'' on the algorithm performance is investigated. An ''E. coli'' fed-batch fermentation process model is used as a test problem. Based on the results from parameter identification, namely objective function values, the GAs, with the correspondent ''pm''-value, producing the best results are determined. Frther, ICrA is applied using information from all model parameter estimates, computational time and objective function value. The ICrA confirms the conclusions based only on objective function values and helps to choose what mutation rate ''pm'' is more appropriate to use in the considered case study.<br />

| abstract = In the current investigation, an application of the InterCriteria Analysis over a dataset of university rankings of Turkey is discussed. InterCriteria Analysis is used to determine possible dependencies or independences between indicators used for universities evaluation. The comparison of the results is presented. The obtained results can be helpful for improvement of the universities estimation process using the appropriate parameters.<br />

| abstract = In this paper we present the recently proposed approach InterCriteria Analysis (ICA) for the Mesta River pollution modelling in Bulgaria. The approach is based on the apparatus of the index matrices and the intuitionistic fuzzy sets. We have applied the ICA to establish the basic pollution relations (the model structure) based on different criteria involved in the Mesta River. The results have shown the criteria are independent, they are time functions. Based on this we have developed an adequate mathematical model of the Mesta River pollution. The Method of the least squares is used for a parametric identification. <br />

| abstract = As a subsequent step in the theoretical research of the decision support method of Intercriteria Analysis (ICA), the authors focus on the idea of having triples of criteria in positive consonance. For this aim, we use as an example to illustrate our research the data from the World Economic Forums’ Global Competitiveness Reports for the year 2016-2017. The work hypothesis is that, given a record of intercriteria pairs that have exhibited positive consonance over a longer period of time, triples and ''n''-tuples of more criteria can be detected among them featuring high enough pairwise consonance. Here the algorithm is proposed to identify and rank intercriteria triples. The particular interpretation of such triple of intercriteria consonances is a matter of further investigation by problem-specific experts.<br />

| abstract = The present step from the research on InterCriteria Analysis (ICrA) discusses the issues of the computational complexity of the algorithm developed, and the influence which the numerical precision has on the results of its work. These questions are important from both theoretical, and practical point of view, especially in the context of the application of the method in support of the decision making process.<br />
