About the conference

The conference is mainly concerned with recent advances and challenges in the theory, design and applications of broadly perceived intelligent systems. With respect to tools and techniques, a special emphasis will be on modern artificial intelligence, computational intelligence (fuzzy sets, rough sets, evolutionary computation, neural networks, swarm intelligence, etc.), calculi of uncertainty, nonstandard logics, data analysis, data mining and knowledge discovery, machine learning, information aggregation and fusion, multimedia information processing, Web technology and intelligence, cognitive and affective computing, multiagent systems, ontologies for intelligent systems, "big data", etc.

Main application areas include, but are not limited to: bioinformatics, business and finance, intelligent decision support systems, database systems, e-learning, e-administration, environmental engineering, healthcare, security, sensors, automation, mobile robotics, manufacturing systems, logistics, electrical and power engineering, telecommunication, infrastructure and transportation, etc.

Paper submission

Prospective authors are invited to submit original contributions to IEEE IS 2014 of up to 8 pages according to the instructions available at the website http://ieee-is-2014.ibspan.waw.pl which will also contain the typing and submission instructions. The submission and review process will proceed via the Easychair system.

The papers, accepted in a peer review process, will appear in the proceedings volume to be published in Springer’s “Advances in Intelligent Systems and Computing” book series (http://www.springer.com/series/11156), submitted for indexing by the Thomson Reuters Conference Proceedings Citation Index and Elsevier’s EI Compendex, and available in IEEE Explore.

Moreover, selected papers will be published in many well-known journals exemplified by Control and Cybernetics, Journal of Automation, Mobile Robotics and Intelligent Systems, Intelligent and Complex Systems, etc. Special edited volumes published by Springer focused on specific, novel and challenging topics will also be prepared after the conference.

The registration fee covers: Attendance of conference sessions, tutorials and other events, coffee breaks, lunches, welcome party, banquet, conference materials, publication of up to 2 papers in the proceedings, publication of papers in special issues in journals and post-conference edited volumes, if accepted.

The registration fee does not cover the accommodation which is at the participant’s own expense. The accommodation in the conference hotel can be booked through the hotel reservation Web site at a special rate negotiated by the organizers.
